Badiula was born in the heart of the Syracuse countryside<\/strong>, where the story of our family intertwines with the story of the land itself.
For four generations<\/strong>, we have been farmers, descending from a long tradition of sharecroppers \u2014 men and women who built their lives through patience, sacrifice, and deep respect for the earth.<\/p>

In the 1970s<\/strong>, Salvatore, Giuseppe, and Salvatore Di Giorgio \u2014 two brothers and a cousin \u2014 decided to transform that farming heritage into a life project: restoring value to the Badiula district, then entirely agricultural land,<\/strong> and turning it into a place where the earth could continue to generate beauty and future<\/strong>.<\/p>

At the beginning, the estate consisted of around twenty hectares dedicated to the cultivation of blood oranges. Over time, thanks to the family\u2019s passion and dedication, the land expanded and diversified with lemon groves, olive trees, bergamot, and lime plantations, following a philosophy of respectful and sustainable agriculture.<\/p>\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

With the second generation<\/strong> \u2014 represented by Giuseppe, Alfio, Salvatore, and Alfio Di Giorgio \u2014 Badiula embarked on a new journey.
In 2000, the restoration of an ancient rural complex overlooking a river<\/strong> began, giving life to the idea of combining the agricultural soul of the estate with authentic hospitality, creating an agriturismo capable of telling the story of the true Sicily.<\/p>

In 2005, Badiula opened its doors with just eight rooms<\/strong>.
Today, Badiula is a consortium offering 33 rooms<\/strong>, a restaurant<\/strong>, conference facilities<\/strong>, and a wellness centre<\/strong>, while remaining faithful to the same philosophy: a place that welcomes with sincerity, where elegance<\/strong> is made of simplicity and luxury<\/strong> is measured through human details.<\/p>

Our crops are organic and certified, and the estate is part of both the Sicilian Citrus Production District<\/strong> and the Blood Orange PGI Protection Consortium<\/strong>.
Through the project \u201cLe Vie della Zagara\u201d (\u201cThe Routes of Orange Blossom\u201d), we have combined agriculture, culture, and sustainable tourism<\/strong> into a development model that respects both the land and the local community.<\/p>\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In 2019, Giuseppe, Salvatore, and Lorenza Di Giorgio \u2014 the third generation<\/strong> \u2014 joined the second generation, bringing a fresh vision while remaining deeply rooted in the same values.<\/p>

They are responsible for the latest phase of Badiula\u2019s evolution: the creation of the suites with private jacuzzis<\/strong>, the modernisation of the facilities, and a path of digital innovation and sustainability<\/strong> that projects Badiula into the future.<\/p>

But their greatest strength lies in one simple choice: staying<\/strong>.
At a time when many leave, they chose to remain here, on their land, to continue a dream<\/strong> that began among the rows of citrus trees.
They believe that true innovation means cultivating one\u2019s roots<\/strong> and transforming tradition into the future.
